2009 SPAN Calendar
- Rules and Legal Stuff -

    1. Calendar Photo Contest open to all Mississippi residents age 18 and older. Voting is open to any person age 18 and older.

    2. Color photo must be an original, (Please, no images altered by any graphic program such as PhotoShop or PaintShopPro).

    3. Formats accepted are:
       a. Print on photo paper, 4x6 or larger
       b. Electronic Picture File, 300 DPI original JPG, 4x6 or larger.
    Note: Images that appear blurry or pixeled cannot be used.

    4. Photo submissions ("entry period") will end on October 25, 2008. Any photo received after that will not be considered. See Submitting Pictures at the MS-SPAN web site (http://www.msspan.org/CalendarSubmit.htm)

    5. Voting on photos ("voting period") will commence about October 29, 2008 and end on November 20, 2008. Voting is open to any person who meets the eligibility requirements stated herein and who contributes $1.00 for each vote. Also, any eligible person who submits a photo with $20 entry fee, and the photo is accepted and made available for voting, will receive 20 votes for each eligible photo. Voting can be done on-line (after the entry period has closed) at the MS-SPAN web site (http://www.msspan.org/SPANcalendar.asp) or by sending your vote choices and vote fee to:

    6. In late November, the winners will be posted on the MS-SPAN web site. The winners will be the thirteen photos receiving the largest number of votes (12 monthly and 1 cover photo). In the case where there may be more than thirteen winning photos due to a tie vote, the SPAN Board of Directors will render a decision as to the winning photo. The decision of MS-SPAN Board of Directors is final on the photos selected.

    7. The Board of Directors reserves all rights to all decisions regarding the calendar publication, including but not limited to on which month a winning photo is displayed, the size of the photo, which part of the photo is used (in the event the photo must be cropped), etc. Decisions of MS-SPAN Board of Directors are final.

    8. Who may enter: Any Mississippi resident (but see rule 1 above) may enter a photograph during the entry period. The Entry Fee for each photograph is $20.00. The animal in the picture must be either spayed or neutered at the time of the photograph. Any person who visits the MS-SPAN web site during the voting period may vote on photographs. The Vote Fee for voting on photographs is $1.00 per vote.
