Purchase a microchip for your pet at the time of spay/neuter, and receive a free nail trim!
Microchips are extremely useful tools in keeping pets and families together. According to a study by the AVMA, dog owners typically only recover their lost dogs 13% of the time. With dogs who were microchipped, they found that 74.1% of dogs were returned to their families.
A microchip is a permanent ID for your pet that is roughly the size of a grain of rice. It is administered under the skin between the shoulder blades and takes just a moment with minimal pain. Most pets don't even feel it!
Microchips at the Big Fix Clinic are $25 (which includes lifetime registration) and can be administered at the time of surgery. In December, we will be giving a free nail trim to any pet that is spayed/neutered and receives a microchip.
The most important thing to remember about microchips is that they are only as good as the contact information you provide. Make sure to register your microchip and keep your information current!
