Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us?
A: I wish other people knew about the wonderful care the clinic offers. I also wish other people knew how inexpensive it is have your pets spay and neutered

Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views?
A: I love animals & was horrified to learn through news stories how many unwanted animals are killed each year.

Q: When did you first hear about MS SPAN and/or the Big Fix Clinic?
A: I herd about the clinic over five years ago, from a lady in line at the bank

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: Pet overpopulation is a tragedy, especially here, in the South. Thousands of healthy living animals are killed each year for lack of homes. To have a pet spayed or neutered through a vet is terribly expensive & many Mississippians cannot afford to pay for it. A pet is a beloved family member for most people, so helping their animal live a healthy life is beneficial to all.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: Without access, I wouldn’t have been able to save them. They would have been sent to the pound & been euthanized, possibly along with 7 or 8 neighbors cats. As it was, I created a series of small cat artdolls that a local pet store carried & sold for me for no charge so I could use all sales money for spay/neuter, their food & shots. Paying for surgeries through vet’s offices would have been impossible.

Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: This incident was years ago, but they all had happy lives.

Q: Do you remember the first time you saw the animal? What was their physical and emotional state like?
A: These cats had been very much loved, but by the time I got to them, they were terribly hungry & stressed because their human was dead for several days before she was found.

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services.
A: Years ago, I had learned of an elderly neighbor who had died & her family had called Animal Control to pick up all her cats. Family said the cats were feral & nobody wanted them. I knew neighbors had free roaming family cats that would have been caught in the traps as well, so I set off to save them. I checked with the family so they would call off Animal Control. Called MS SPAN to see when they were scheduled here, trapped the cats & later found great homes for each of them. Y’all were lifesavers in every sense of the word!

Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us?
A: Wish more people were aware of MsSpan, so they could donate & partake of the services.

Q: When did you first hear about MS SPAN and/or the Big Fix Clinic?
A: Met Elaine Adair at Festival in Ocean Springs where she had a booth for MsSpan.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: I wish more people were aware of the affordable services that were offered through MSSPAN which could also mean more donations being brought in and possibly more staff available to decrease the waiting time for surgeries.

Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views?
A: I learned about MSSPAN through a friend who has rescued many stray dogs and was able to have them spayed or neutered due to the affordability of MSSPAN.

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: There are way too many stray dogs and cats roaming the streets, starving to death every single day and one way to break the cycle is by supporting the MSSPAN. By supporting MSSPAN, it will make available more funds and opportunities to help spay and neuter animals that may otherwise continue to breed.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: At the time I couldn’t have afforded to have Bella spayed. Being she is an inside dog I don’t think she would have suffered any but the process of her being in heat would not have been pleasant for any of us.

Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: Bella has a wonderful life. She is the queen of our house. She is spoiled rotten.

Q: Do you remember the first time you saw the animal? What was their physical and emotional state like?
A: She was the cutest puppy. I actually helped deliver her and her siblings. She did and still does love to snuggle

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services.
A: My sweet girl, Bella, was spayed there when she was a puppy. Bella is the sweetest and most loving Pit. She is so loyal to our family. She is the best dog I have ever owned.

Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us?
A: I wish more people were aware of the services you provide and how much you do for the community to help reduce the number of stray cats and dogs.

A: Seeong too many strays and unwanted animals made me aware of the problem.

A: Because it is more than important. It is essential.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: If i could have spared the money i would have tried to have the procedures done. I would have suffered, they would have suffered. Any unwanted offspring would have suffered. Its like a snowball, it just keeps going if you dont stop it.

Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: Sam is funny, fat, loved and loving. He eats well, has his own place. Cookie is a firecracker with a heart of gold. She sleeps at the foot of my bed at night.

Q: Do you remember the first time you saw the animal? What was their physical and emotional state like?
A: Sam was a stray that had been abandoned. He was only a few months old and having a hard life finding food and fighting older cats. He was scrawny and starving. Cookie came from a litter of puppies that needed good homes. She was loved and cared for but needed a home.

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services.
A: Sam our stray cat that found a home here with us. Cookie our puppy. Y’all help them have good start in life while helping us afford the process.
