Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: Overpopulation of cats and dogs is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by big organizations to draw in more attention.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: I like how the quick fix clinic put a tiny little tatoo on my dogs belly so that someone who doesn’t know they’ve been fixed, will know.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: I feel like the dog community would’ve suffered in my case.
  • Ashlee Johnson
Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: My females lives are much better because they don’t have to deal with males swarming them all the time. And the males don’t run off looking for a mate and get lost and they aren’t aggressive.

Q: Do you remember the first time you saw the animal? What was their physical and emotional state like?
A: Our animals are all pets so they are happy animals.
  • Kim Davidson
Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views?
A: Absolutely, we adopted a stray dog that was quite a bit bigger than my Yorkie. And she was not fixed. Well, he got to her while she was in heat. And I had no prior plans to breed her to begin with. But I had been putting off on having her fixed because of the costs

Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us?
A: I wish people looked more into getting their pets spayed and neutered. I wish more people knew how low the cost at MSPAN is and how caring the staff is about our fur babies.

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: I believe that the Mississippi spay and Neuter clinic really is trying to make a difference. And cut down on the number of stray animals we have in Mississippi.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: I would not have been able to have all of them spayed. Which could have caused another “surprise” pregnancy for one or more of my dogs.
  • Kim Davidson
Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: Izzy, the Mama dog, is now 11 years old and she is doing great. I found homes for the two puppies. But the last I heard, they were doing great.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: I think MSAN should be more forthcoming about the service when it comes to dropping off your pet. You arrive, stand there in line, fill out paperwork in the parking lot, then have to wait until your turn comes to leave your pet. It’s a conveyor belt of service at the beginning of the day. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but I had my appointment for several months, expected to walkin, drop off and come back in a few hours. I didn’t know it was, arrive by 8 am, wait outside with a crowd of others until one of the attendants brings out a buggy of clipboarded paperwork, walk up, fill out, wait, wait, wait, drop off, leave all day (as depending on how many and size of dog/cat you have) will be the order of their operation.
I think this should be clarified when making the appointment. And if it was, I don’t recall being told this.
If it is, persons using this service should make note.

Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views?
A: I have adopted dogs through MARL, and found MSAP via them. I’ve always thought it important to have pets fixed. I dislike these breeders, telling you have to have a “Purebread” when so many wonderful animals are there to love. I can’t say as there’s a life changing event. It’s a practical thing to do. But it can get very expensive.

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: Because it’s actually a service you can get behind. With the options of bringing feral animals, the inexpensive S/N cost, and the wonderful staff, it’s definitely an option to support. If not with cash donations, there’s always cleaning and paper needs for the clinic. Just drop off some bleach, towels, old news papers lying around, (Which can be found at a local library and donated at the cost of effort), easy peasy.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: I would have taken him to the vet, like I did our cat. I suppose I would have had to skip a bill or cut back on something in order to put out the asborant fee for the service.
