Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services. A: you’ve fixed 9 of my 12 cats. Recently you’ve put on vaccinations. But I can only get a few of my cats done as that is all you allow (?).
I need 11 cats done. and since I’m disabled, cost is an issue.

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services. A: I have used your service for a total of 7 strays and 1 of our 4 inside cats. The most recent was last week, we brought in a bob tail “wild” cat that is at least 6 years old, more than likely older. He recently started spending alot of time at our house, however we have seen him for at least 4 years. I hesitated to bring him because of his age, but knew that it might give him a better life. He is still roaming, but is spending more time “laying” around and enjoying being petted and enjoying life! Doing fantastic!! I could tell stories all day about our inside and outside cats…wish we could save them all!!

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter? A: Feral and abandoned animals are a very real problem in our area. So many animals are being left to die or suffer on their own simply because their owners were irresponsible. Our own rescue kitten was destined for the pound.

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services. A: BigFix has allowed me to continue caring for unwanted or mistreated animals. Thanks to this wonderful service provided through BigFix, the great staff, and dedicated vets, over the last four years, I have been able to take in four awesome additions to our family – two unwanted Pit mix females and two Chihuahua females (one mistreated and one the owner was no longer well enough to care for). Without BigFix, I simply could not have afforded to take them.

Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us? A: How much you do to stop overpopulation of pets
Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views? A: When I adopted my first dog from MARL in 2011 it opened my eyes to the huge overpopulation issues. He started what I have done since then. About 500 animals have benefited from that epiphany standing in front on my puppy’s cage at the shelter.

Q: What do you wish that other people knew about us? A: more publicity. when I tell people about you their first reaction is " Never heard of them. Where are they located?" And i tell them.
Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter? A: Because Mspan hits the overpopulation issue directly at the source. Less dogs and cats being born, less dogs and cats having to suffer later in life due to lack of owners ability to help it or a rescues space restrictions from taking it in.

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter? A: While there are many great rescue groups and shelters out there, if the pet population is not controlled, there will never be enough space for all the animals. There are so many unwanted and unowned animals right now that many are sadly euthanized every day. The only answer is to get to the root of the problem and work to get as many animals as possible spayed and neutered. MS Spay and Neuter is already making a HUGE difference in this and I know they work tirelessly to continue to help more and more people and animals.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered? A: Our checkbook would have suffered. We would have had to take him to our vet to be neutered and would have paid almost double. In all honesty, I might not have adopted him if I hadn’t already known about the clinic.
Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered? A: Without affordable care there would be about 300 animals in Yazoo City alone who would have never received vet care or spay/neuter. Even rescues in that area have told me that the spay/neuter transports I did for that area to Big Fix made a drastic difference in their intake numbers. Way less puppies abandoned at the dumps around that area.
