Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: We’re still would’ve been able to afford to neuter them, bit wet did great for their safety with all the fighting.

Q: What is the animal's life like now?
A: Tons of toys, a bird feeder & hummingbird feeder outside the windows to watch, plenty of sunny windows to sleep in front of, amid tons of snuggling!

Q: Do you remember the first time you saw the animal (when you decided to adopt)? What was their physical and emotional state like?
A: Our cats looked pretty healthy & had a good checkupat the vet, but they had been staying in a concrete & cinder block wall kennel. Their food had been thrown on the ground, their water was not clean, & ther litter box was days overdue for a changing.

Q: Tell us about a specific animal or animals who used our services.
A: We had just adopted an orange male tabby and a grey ale tabby from the local shelter. That particular shelter does not spray/neuter pets before they leave, but it is part of the adoption agreement. We had tons of sexual aggression & dominance issues whenwe brought them home. The Big Fix was a lifesaver being able to get them in sooner than our vet! The aggression immediately went away & now they are happy, healthy BFFs!

Q: How did you learn about spay and neuter and its importance? Was there a life event that changed your views?
A: Anyone who believes it is OK for ANY domesticated animal be mistreated, to suffer or starve, become homeless, unwanted, unloved, overpopulated and eventually producing generations of feral offspring who’s fate will likely be a horrible one.
    – No doubt, there’s a reserved seat in a very hot place for those people…

Q: With so many great organizations to support, why should others support Mississippi Spay and Neuter?
A: They are the only clinic that I have found that treats the animals and their humans with respect, they have helped keep the population of unwanted animals under control by not charging a fortune.

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: I honestly have no idea… It would have been a huge financial undertaking for my new bride and I, that’s for sure. We had one kitten spayed 3 weeks ago, she recovered quickly and is strong & healthy. However, we still have four kittens that need to be neutered (ASAP if you know what I mean), as well as vaccinated. Even with the lower cost at The Big Fix clinic, we simply have no solution on how we can afford to fix/vaccinate the other four sweet babies. We have hand raised/bottle fed them from 2 weeks old, they are precious and spoiled rotten – with that – taking them to any type of overcrowded shelter is completely out of the question. We are for sure keeping two and have found a great loving home for one . All attempts to find a safe loving home for the other two kittens haven’t yielded anything. We would love nothing more than to keep all of them – the way it’s looking that may happen… However, four kitties is a little bit much for a 2BR, 1100sq.ft. apartment…. My wife is in the medical field, I am a career firefighter/medic, so undoubtedly we both have enormous hearts when it comes to rescuing, caring for and treating those in need – in April of this year we were thankful and blessed having been in the right place at just the right time to rescue and adopt five kittens approx two weeks old that were very close to a tragic end. I just hope and pray we can find the means to get them fixed/vaccinated and find loving homes for two.

    Best wishes,
    - D

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: Since I’m disabled I would not have been able to afford to get them spay/neutered. So I would not have been able to give them a good home

Q: Without access to affordable spay/neuter, what would you have done? Who/what would have suffered?
A: I would have had it done anyway.
I don’t believe in breeding animals.
Mississippi has terrible laws on animal abuse. I do what I can to help save as many unwanted litters as possible.
