spaytacular 2019- New Building Initiative

In December, we purchased an existing 10,000 square foot building and began working on it almost immediately with guidance from the Richland Building Department.

We’ve also begun working with a talented architect who is drawing up the plans for our facility, and a generous donor has offered to cover all of his fees. We’ve assembled a strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers (with a special shout out to our demo-man Harvey Washington), an architect and general contractor to lead these efforts.

In January, we received a permit and started demolition of interior walls, the staff dormitories were painted and our traveling staff has moved in. The parking lot has also been paved and fence will go up over the next month.

Once our drawings are complete, we can officially begin our renovations, with the goal of opening the clinic by the end of May, and the Big Thrift by early 2020. Last October, we began our official fundraising efforts and have raised nearly $130,000 to date and have $300,000 remaining to raise, to pay for and renovate our new facility.

However, we plan to open the clinic and thrift store in phases, with the clinic opening by the end of May. It has been estimated that the total cost to complete this phase is $65,000. And all of the proceeds from Spaytacular 2019 will go directly toward this goal.

We would like to invite everyone to commit to investing $1,200 in our new clinic,  to be paid in whatever way you can. We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to invest in this project at a level that they feel comfortable with.

If you are able, we encourage you to invest $1,200 by making a one time gift, or by donating $100 per month for one year..$50 per month for two years...  or whatever works for your family. You can also increase your giving capacity by signing on a couple of friends or family members to match your contribution.

Every dollar matters, so please give as generously as you can. We value every family for committing their best gift and we are grateful, regardless of the amount.
