Giving Tuesday - Support our Community Cat Fund
This fund assists Good Samaritans who get feral (wild, un-socialized) cats spayed or neutered at the Big Fix Clinic. Each cat also receives a rabies vaccine for $10 and an ear-tip to signify that they have been altered. Because the cost of surgery can be a hurdle for caregivers of feral cats on top of food, shelter and other health expenses, we offer the surgery free of charge. Some caregivers have brought in hundreds of cats throughout the years!
Each year, the Big Fix Clinic sees more than 1,300 feral cats and spends over $65,000 to spay and neuter them. Though this price tag may seem steep, it is the most affordable and humane way to control the homeless cat population in our communities.
Community cats are considered un-adoptable, so spay and neuter is especially important for these free-roaming cats to protect them from euthanasia in shelters, and to prevent the births of feral kittens.
Can you help us raise $10,000 before #GivingTuesday on November 27th?
For each $5 you donate, you'll receive an entry in our Giving Tuesday raffle for a Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder ($150 value) and local fresh-roasted Bean Fruit Coffee ($30 value)! You'll also receive an entry for every friend you recruit who completes a donation. We'll draw a lucky winner on November 28th!
